The item you have pictured was NOT a FORD item, never was. It was an aftermarket company item. Red Rock Mfg repops them now -SEE link BELOW. The FORD 8N-15500 Implement Lamp was not introduced until April, 1949. It was also only sold as dealer supplied optional accessory, never in a kit. FORD made them at the Ford Lamp Factory in Flat Rock, MI, then outsourced to the CM HALL LAMP CO. of Detroit. CM HALL was the only authorized supplier to the worklight. There are only two differences between the Ford lamp and the CM HALL lamp. One is the HALL diamond logo stamp on the shell by the ON/OFF switch. Dennis Carpenter now is the only licensed by FORD company to repop them, exact as original. FACT: FORD N-SERIES TRACTORS never had factory installed lighting kits at the Rouge or Highland Park factories. Lighting kits were always only dealer supplied optional accessories until the 800 Series and then just headlights. You are looking at the Beemer & Peterson book, that although it has many great photos, also contains a lot of wrong, incorrect, and missing important information. This aftermarket worklight is only one of them. The authors lead you to believe it was a genuine FORD supplied item.
