lol, good eye! That week was my "vacation" so there may have been a few cans consumed along the way.

They definitely take their share but if you look in the background center of the picture you can just make out a small hunting shack. Dad put it up there to get some of his oats back. lol

The same group of elk make their rounds to the field every year. Seems to be about 8-10. I'm not saying they don't make a dent in the field, they do but not much can be done about it. The elk are protected by the fish and game pretty well. If I was around and chased them out of the wooded area where they bed down during the day, they would likely just come at night from the woods north of the Interstate highway. And if they get completely nocturnal, I'd have no chance of killing one during hunting season. We've shot plenty of deer from the field also. So I guess that's the price I'll have to pay.
