Congratulations on getting a great old tractor. Super Majors had dry disc brakes, and are pretty simple to work on. Before trashing the
tachometer, make sure the drive cable, and ends are in good condition. The cable ends were known to round off, or it could be a broken
cable. I have freed up stuck Tach. heads with a good penetration/lubricating oil also. Remember that it has a differential lock pedal to the
back of your right heel, make sure it is free moving, keep it lubed. They don't like to steer if the diff. lock is stuck. They are pretty
simple to work on, get yourself a copy of the owners manual, and a repair manual.

I appreciate the advice! I ordered them right here from the forum sponsor, for the hoe and the tractor. They didn't have the one for the loader, but I guess there's always flEabay!
