Got 3/4" Sat, nice Sunday & Monday, woke up to rain again this AM. Forecast says rain w/ downpours next 3 days. TV showed what Dayton OH got, and our prayers go up for them, and anyone else in that situation. Got a neighbor who works 6500 acres, and plants 1/2 that to corn. As of yesterday he only had 100A in. But I tell him if he wants to work 1/2 the County to "Deal with it"!!

The delayed planting is getting serious. I wonder how many corn acres will become bean acres. More rain today eastern Iowa

Sprinkled here yesterday. 75 today, 85 by Saturday. Big Auman Auction in Brooks, Oregon Saturday

Saw in Friday's paper where only 50% of the planned corn acres nationwide had been planted.

I got all my corn planted between April 20-26 cold rain until mid May, planted 120 acres of beans on May 15 nothing but rain since then. The corn that came up without drowning out looks worse every day , can?t imagine it will amount to much. Depressing to say the least to watch what you have planted dwindle away and too wet to plant the rest.
