Really Dumb Question

Does a six blade fan pull more air that a four blade? Or is it just imaginary? I am going to use the 1955 radiator on my tractor. I have given it a good cleaning inside and out, have a new shroud and now need a new fan blade. Here in the deep south 100 degree days happen every summer. Everything I have read tells me new radiators on the market never fit properly. This bugs me. So I have decided to use what I have. Your feedback will be appreciated.

If the size and pitch of both fans are the same, then yes, 6 blades will pull more air than 4. If any of those variables changes, then the answer is maybe.

Yes, the Ford 6 blade fan will move more air than the Ford 3 blade fan.

It is also MUCH more noisy.

You are correct regarding aftermarket radiators. Use your OEM if possible. If not, have it recored with a FLAT FIN INDUSTRIAL core ONLY.

i couple years ago i ran a piece of metal through the front of my tractor (and i have a loader on it) dont ask me how it happened but basicaly i ran the radiator into the fan blade so hard that it stopped the motor cold needless to say i was sudenly in the market for a new radiator and fan blade and needed to straighten my core support i ended up buying a radiator out of a Woods catalog and a six blade fan the radiator fit perfect and the fan realy moves the air
