Rear axle seal leaking

I have a 1950 Ford 8n tractor the rear right axle is blown, and the brakes are probley wet,any way I got down to take off the drum and its stuck, so I will probley have to get a larger drum puller. My question is, the bearing looks like its pressed on the axel, can I replace the oil seals without having to take the bearing off the axel? How many seals does this tractor have? One or two? I noticed the bearing when I took the hub nuts off and pulled the axel out a little.

Dont know about your ford . But the seal will not seal if axle bearing is out of tolerance (bad) . Or the Axle sealing seal surface is pitted from rust or worn done from wear . That will need corrected.

Before you go any further, you need to buy yourself a manual that explains the procedure. It is not like you think. Are you replacing the inner or outer seal and are you pulling the axle or the hub. You need to be down on the N board with your questions. lots of knowledge there. I have done dozens of these things and I could explain it to you but, please buy a manual. They sell them on this site.
