Rear axle seal

Yes so long as it does not have the later type axle. This later axle had grease nipples/zerks at the axle ends to grease the outer bearing. The seal for the later axle is simple, just pull out the axle and the seal fits in the outer end of the trumpet housing and is available from any bearing and seal stockist.

Sure Seals only fit on early TEA's with the original axles, that is before serial number 330,043 in the middle of 1953. If you have a later tractor that has the two seals, you can just fit the inner one that goes in the centre of the Trumpet housing, this would be the FERGUSON equivalent of a "Sure Seal". Remember that you will have to partly dismantle the brakes and then re-adjust them, you will also need to check that the Independent brakes are not seized or you wont be able to adjust the brakes at all and you will also have to adjust the End float in the axle shafts. This applies to all the tractors and axle-shafts no matter which type is fitted.Check that you don't have too much oil in the back end, remove the bottom screw in one of the side covers below the seat and allow the surplus to run out, this will prevent the excess from running into the brakes. There are two different braking systems used.
