rear axle seals

I have two each of 81823109 and 86531999 left from when I replaced them on my '72 2000 and the dealer sent the wrong ones. Not sure what they're
for. Anybody need them?

The New Holland parts site lists both of those part numbers as seals, but it doesn't list any models for the first one, 81823109. That second one, 86531999, shows as being correct for a large number of tractors from 1965 through 1990:

3610V
3310
333
3400
3150 (UK only)
3550
3000

3110 (3000 LCG 65-74, which I didn't know existed)
4610
2810
3600N (Narrow)

2910
2000 series (65-74)

So they might have been correct for your '72 2000. In looking at the parts drawing for the 3 cylinder 2000 rear axle, 86531999 is listed as the oil seal as part labelled 14 in the drawing, but there is an alternate part 14A with a different part number, 86531244, but it doesn't say why there is a 14 and 14A, and it also doesn't say which model or date breakdown would differentiate them, so yours may have required the 14A part number

In looking at it further, 14 is used on axles with the nut that holds the bearing in place, while 14A is used in axles that have the press on collar/ring instead of the nut.

That's what I found too. Both are rear axle seals but they were wrong for my 2000. I&T manual said those with square housing axles had the nut on
the bearings and round housings used the shrink collar. But mine has square housings and collars.

The current parts drawing on the parts site only shows the square trumpet, but it shows two different sets of assemblies at the ends of the axles for the seals, bearings, etc.depending on the collar vs. the nut. Maybe they discovered that tractors like yours existed and dropped the "round vs. square" bit in determining which parts you might need.

press on collar/ring seal is 86531244 fit my 1970 2000
Axles with retaining nut 56531999/81503352 fit my 1969 3000

Both have square axles so if its square you will not know till you take it apart are go by a 2000 #86531244.
3000 56531999/81503352.

My 2000 was the first 3cyl one I did that used press on collar/ring.

I did get the right seals when I did the job ten years ago. Just never returned these and wondered if anybody needs them. I don't go back to that dealer either. I also asked for the gasket and seal kit for the lift cover. I called and they said it's in stock so I drive thirty miles and they don't have it. Guy behind the counter hands me one and said this will work. Got it home, not even close. It's for a Ferguson. Never returned that one either if anybody is interested.
