got a new 900 and don't have a manual yet how much gear oil should I have in the rear end on this thing. Thanks

From the owner's manual:

Crankcase: 5 quarts
Transmission (5 speed): 8.5 quarts
Hydraulic sump: 8 quarts
Differential: 8 quarts
Final Drives: 1.5 quarts each
Pedestal: 2 quarts

Manual SE6172-A copyright 1957

If it is like the rest of the hundred series there will be a level check plug on the upper backside of the left axle trumpet.

Stand behind the tractor, grab each axle trumpet.. right in right hand, left in left hand... the check plug should be near your left hand.. etc.

Now.. I don't own one with those outboard planetaries.. so i don't know if they are a seperate sump or not!?!

there is a dipstick there I assumed it was for the hyrdo. though. Is there another one I over looked?

I said PIPE PLUG...

The dipstick is for the hydro.. the pipe plug on the rear left axle trumpet is the level check for the diffy.

That's what we were talking about right? the diffy?
