Rear Seals JDH

I'm replacing the axle seals on my 1939 "H". Before I go any farther, Yes I have the books and service guides.
The seals I have are National 455137. One face of the seal housing is flat the other has the seam where the two halves are joined. The side with the seam also has a space between the seal material and the housing. Which side faces of the seal faces main case? (Differential)

Look at the lip of the seal. Lift it up carefully to look as one side will have a spring behind it which holds tension on the lip. This side with the spring on it goes towards where the oil is you need to seal out. So here the spring loaded lip goes pointing to the main case.
