Rear Wheel repair

I need a section of a 14.9 x 24 wheel, I have one rusted out because of calcium and need a piece for a repair any suggestions? Thanks

Check your farm tire dealer's dumpster for scrap rims. I found 2 last Friday that were fixable, one needs very little work. Since we do business with our dealer quite frequently, he doesn't charge anything for scrap that we take from his dumpster. But I do have to put up with a few of his bad jokes before he says we can take the rims.

Hammer heat and a welder and you can make any thing BTDT and fixed rims that I was told could not be fixed. All you need is time, the will to do it and the metal to work with. I have yet to cut up one rim to fix another and I have fixed a good many over the years

I agree, I have forged old computer cases into an 8N rim repair.

The guy I did it for was very happy.

Even more so, when I said no charge, I did it to prove to my Ole Lady's brother that it could be done.

Scott,
If yours is like mine, most damage is around the valve stems.
I used metal washers to replace the rotted valve stem area starting with the largest and finished with one that just fit the tube stem.
I did end up replaceing the rims last year, when I got new tires. About $100 each from a local Arg. tire place.
Just how bad are they?
