Rebuilding 800 Ford distributor

The distributor on my 800 Ford broke one of the distributor weight spring strips. I have looked everywhere for a new weight and spring set but can not find any for the 600 - 4000. Found one for an 8N that looks the same but wanted to see if anyone has used the 8N weight set up before on the 800. If it won"t work does anyone know where to get a new one for the 800?
Thanks

The 8N distributor turns in the opposite direction than the later OHV engine distributors, making everything about the advance REVERSED between the two.

The weights are part of the cam assembly which is a mirror image of what you have.

I don't know if the rivets holding the weights could be ground off and the weights flipped over, then installed on your weight carrier/cam assembly.

HOWEVER, the assembly, part # FAA12176A, is still available from New Holland, unfortunately it's about $125.00!

A GOOGLE search for the part number didn't turn up much of any use.
