Rebuilt clutch

Has anyone used an aftermarket rebuilt clutch for a 4020 or 4320? Deere no longer loans out the tools. I would have to purchase the tools

Thanks

I mean I’ve only ever bought complete aftermarket clutches for 4020/10 3020/10

4020 or 4320 I believe they will be different and take a different adjustment tool or at least the other side of the same tool

You must adjust them correctly or you will wear the engagement levers off

What are you short splitting stands or install tool or the adjustment tool? And which tractor are we talking about?

I am currently planning to make some stands to split the tractor and will need to do the pro seals and the other seal know to leak.

I found out Deere or the owner of a form Deere dealership will adjust clutch for an hour of shop time. I am working on a 4320

I don't know where you are. Kentucky Clutch just south of Louisville at Brooks Ky rebuilds them and when you get it it is ready to bolt in. I have gotten several there. Good honest people. I bought a 4020 a few years back that needed an engine, and I thought that would be a good time for a clutch. He toook it back and in a few minutes he came back with a new looking clutch. I said that was quick. He said this is the old one, it was rusty from sitting. Whoever had it put in a new clutch before they parked it. He said I'll set it up and you can go bolt it in. That is honesty.

As mega dealers take over loaning/renting tools seems to be going away.

Many posts here tell of fellows building their own splitting stands, or other support method. The pressure plate and clutch disc alignment tools are available to purchase from the aftermarket. If the finger adjusting tool is the flat metal gauge the dealer might not loan it out but the service manager at dealer I use, allowed me to trace their gauge (onto my manila file folder) so I could fabricate a copy. Do you have a service/technical manual, so you know the JD tool number(s) you need?

Put my 4020 together yesterday. Made my own clutch alignment tool. 6" length of 1/2" keystock with a 1/2" drive socket for 7/16" bolt head fits inside pilot bearing, then a 19mm 1/2" drive impact socket slid onto the keystock is almost perfect fit for clutch disc shaft.

Could probably do it with 3/8" keystock and 3/8" drive sockets.

Tractor went together perfectly once ring gear was turned to align clutch splines.

Most people don't relize that John Deere is a Marketer in parts,, they never made a reman clutch,, they get them from suppliers,,"after market",,and just double the price and put them in a Deere box. You can put a 4320 clutch and flywheel into any 4020,, the adjustments are the same,,you will need to order the flywheel pins separately,,they are around $75 each,, I have put many of them in,, the clutch pedal will be much stiffer
