Must be the high cost of fuel.

There are no custom wheat cutters in this area this year, so all the local farmers are pulling their old combines and straight trucks out of the sheds and doing it themselves.

Kinda nice to see that wheat getting threshed again without the use of those half-million dollar combines and semi trucks. :>)

Heck no!

Let it stand out there. :>)

Ours isn't either but usually there is another digit behind the 9 for the humidity. Can't imagine it being less that 50% let alone 9%!

Yeah, tell me about it. Here in SE PA, it usually feels 5-10 degrees hotter than what it actually is.

How can it "feel like" less than what it is? Never could understand that, guess if I felt it I'd understand, I don't know. Doug N

Yeah,

That humidity will beat ya with a stick. Out here where it is dry, a 90 degree reading is a nice spring day. :>)

Maybe not that refreshing. Those ole $500,000 machines will soon depreciate to the $500-$2000 range which will make it more within reason to people like you. Many farmers have depended on custom operators. So since you're happy they're not coming through your area, maybe they're happy they don't have to deal with people like you. And your guess for a new combine is way off.

Would that be a windchill then? Must be...

It was into the 80's today, but it sure felt hotter. I think the humidity is up in the 70-80%

No dew tonight so far though, so maybe we can get a better chance at the bedding tomorrow. I filled both wagons today while dad was working on the fence (girls got out again a couple nights ago-this time into the oats) but we can't get the blower set up until the cow can go back to the pasture. We should have it good enough for them to be out in the daytime while we put up some new bedding...

Geeze!

Must have struck a nerve there!

I just thought it was kinda neat seeing those old outfits out running again. :>(

From my way of thinkin', 100 is 100, and its HOT, no matter which way you come from to arrive at that number.
