Remote Hydraulic Valve

I am trying to sell a nice front loader on my 601 Ford. Several folks interested do not have remote hydraulic valves however. I assume that 601, 801, 2000 (4clinder models) remote hydraulic valves all interchange. Next question is where to find them and what do they cost? Any help?

Wayne:

Any remote hydraulic valve designed to fit any Ford tractor made between 55 and early 65 (and some later models) will fit all of these tractors.

Such valves come in either single or dual spool. If you plan to run a fully hydraulic loader from the tractor hydraulic pump, a dual spool remote hydraulic valve is the easiest way to do so.

TISCO sells new single and dual remote valves (as well as kits complete with all hardware needed for installation of remotes) to fit these tractors and but a dual kit will no doubt cost more than the loader is worth.

Used valves show up on eBay and other ad sites from time to time and can sometimes be found at salvage yards. A good used dual spool valve (with both handles) will likely cost $500+.

REMOTE VALVE MODIFICATION TO HUNDRED SERIES LIFT

Remove the remote valve adapter plate from the top of the lift cover. There will be a hole under the plate that will gush oil when the engine is turned with the starter. Drill and tap this hole to receive a 1/4 inch Allen hex pipe plug. Directly above this plug drill and tap a hole through the adapter plate to receive a 1/4" pipe street ell fitting.

Remove the plug from the test port at the lower right side of the differential/hydraulics and route a hose from the test port to the control valve/s “in” port you wish to use to operate remote cylinder/s. Then route a hose from the control valve/s “out” port to the street ell you have set into the adapter plate. As long as the remote valve is not being used the three point hitch will work as usual. The three point will not work when using the remote valve/s

Dean,
Actually the same Ford remote valve will fit from 1955 all the way up well into the 1980s. 600,800,501,901,2000,4000,3000, 2600, 4600, 5600 6600 etc, etc. You are correct on the price.
$2-300 for a single and $4-500+ for a dual handled remote.

Wayne,
Another option -and much cheaper - is to buy a power beyond plate. This plate bolts under the hyd cover under your seat and gives you pressure out and a return. With this plate and a single or dual handled hyd valve from somewhere like Northern Tool you can run any type of remote equipment such as a loader or hydraulic top link. They are available from this site.
