Removed wrong oil level bolt

I have a ford 3000 select o speed. I removed the wrong bolt to check the rear axle housing oil level. What ever the bolt was attached to inside the housing has shifted & I can"t get the bolt to screw back in. The bolt is just forward of the oil level bolt & under the drive disconnection lever. What have I done & what should I do. Thanks for any feedback.

Grim,
You're not the first.
Remove the 6" round inspection on the opposite side of the tractor. Then look in with a flashlight and you will see the suction bracket that you loosened.
You will need a helper to screw in the bolt on one side of the tractor while you hold the bracket from the other. EZ
PS, Welcome to the Ford Board.

did the exact same thing on my 3600. had to wait for my wife to get home from work to put the screw back in.

Thanks so much for that Info I had visions of removing the rear axle housing or similar. The Ford Board is now on my favourites. Cheers, grim
