removing keyed ignition switch on te20

There should be a thin nut on the Key side. Turn it CCW to loosen and remove.

Pull the switch housing fwd to remove from the lower dash panel.

I've attached a photo of the key side of my switch.
A few rotations of the chrome ring loosened the switch, after which the chrome ring just rotates freely to no effect.
There is another small hole on the opposite side of the chrome ring, but I haven't had any luck accessing some kind of release through them.
It can't be that complicated, but damned if I can get it off!

I have seen headlight switches with push button release on the assembly over on back side

if those holes are in the portion that turns with the key, maybe you have to push something in both holes at same time

Thanks for all the advice.
Glad to know it wasn't the original switch as I broke the damn thing trying to get it off.
Replaced with an on/off toggle.
