Removing sleeves from a Case SC

Trying to remove sleeves from a SC. I removed pistons and put in a puller setup. I can not get they to move. Suggestions, please.

When we pulled them on my D we filled up the block with a penetrating oil and let it sit for a few weeks. My homemade puller didn't work. Once we got a proper puller on them they popped right out. The penetrating oil we use was a homemade recipe: 1/3 ATF, 1/3 kerosene, and 1/3 Marvel Mystery Oil.

I was just watching a guy on YouTube remove dry sleeves. He said the best way is to bore them out until they are paper thin then just pull them out with plyers. Any other way and you are taking a chance on damaging the block

What type of puller are you using? If you are using a long threaded rod with a big plate steel at the bottom (commonly used) Take a heavy pipe or other piece of metal on the bottom end over he sleeve puller nut and hit the bottom plate of the puller with a BFH. (Big f…ing hammer) The metal on metal jarring breaks the rust loose on the sleeve/block joint. Tighten the puller again and hit bottom end again. It’s kind of like an impact wrench on a rusty bolt, hammering breaks rust loose. Done dozens of tight sleeves this way. Usually with no damage to sleeve.

I found it pretty easy to wrap my crank journals with leather sleeves or something to protect them and use 1/16 inch welding rods with welder set just enough to strike an arc then run 4 beads at the quarter points from the bottom of the sleeve to the top of the sleeve this will shrink the sleeve and you can easily slide them right out. Just move along fast enough so you don’t burn through the sleeve. Works like a charm. I have done it successfully at least twice maybe more

SC Case is a wet sleeve engine, you do not need to weld, put some pressure on them with you puller then jar them with a BFH, the oring and flange are stuck, keep tension on and just keep jarring them pretty soon they will pop out.
