Anyone in St. Louis, MO that can get my 51 8N going again? Ran fine 10 mos. ago. Been sittin' since. Has new plugs and Stabl. Battery strong. No fuel? Bowl leaks sometimes, float stuck? The linkage that runs from the throttle to carb/air/
and whatever else, also needs to be adjusted.
I pay in U.S. cash. Webster Groves, MO

Air,fuel, spark, timing, compression. Eliminate, compression, timing, air. Eliminate those because they shouldn"t have changed. You have fuel, crank it, pull a plug and see if it"s wet, if it is, your fuel system is delivering, if it isn"t wet, then carb. Most likely, spark, pull a plug and keep it in the wire and ground it to the block and see if it sparks. Sparks, then back to fuel. No sparks, go to the distributor and pull the cap, look inside and see if there is corrosion, corrosion, new cap...but, I"ll bet on the points being corroded, if so, fine point file, file them, set them and fire it up.

So...this is simple, it"s either fuel or spark, 10 minutes to check which or both. Spark is made by points and I"ll bet you just need a new cap, rotor, condensor, and points. Or, clean up the corrosion and you"re good to go. It does turn over right?

Well if you where closer I would be happy to do so, but my limit is 100 miles. Now if you could bring it to me thats another story. I'm here at the lake of the ozarks and you can find my phone number in the web site, and my e-mail is open
