Replacing a transmission seal

I don't think flat rate works on that repair. The number of variables is too great. If everything is clean and nothing twists off, aaannnddd the mechanic has done a few, probably 4 hours. Were I the service manager, I would estimate 5 and add a notice about problems like the discovery of failed drive connections and discovered additional leaks. Jim

for the 560/660 to R & R the clutch shaft is 18 hrs. by the book. clutch job R & R is 21.5 hrs. i know this is not an M but you go through the same basic motions on the split. and its just for an idea if you want a ball park figure, as yes the M is a bit easier.

I think the H and M top front trans seal can be changed through the bottom. The pump is taken out and the clutch loosened to the point that maybe one bolt on top is 1/2 threaded in. The coupling (nasty thing) is taken apart with photos to assemble correctly, the center bolt is removed fron the input yoke, the yoke is pulled out, the three retainer bolts are removed, and the seal is in your hand..
