replacing fan belt Ford 8N

He removed the pump shaft. Jacked up the motor, getting front wheels off the ground. Disconnected front end pins. Took the top four bolts in the front of the motor out, loosened the bottom two. This is where the terminology escapes us for sure...but he had to pry the "front end support housing"?? away from the crankshaft pully creating about a 1/2 inch gap. He then worked the old belt out. Working the new belt in was tough..he got the new one started in there sideways, then pushed it through the small gap with a piece of wood. Flipped it on there. Then of course put everything back together. Don't know if this helps, but that's what happened, along with alot of head scratching, and determination, and probably a few swear words. He doesn't want to ever have to do it again. But at least he didn't have to pay someone else. Took him all day Christmas day. Thank you all!
