Replacing Spin-Out Wheel Rims Question

I’ve got a MF 50 with spin out wheel rims. At the valve stem on one rim, the rust around the valve stem is unrepariable and the rim needs to be replaced.

Question - can the rim for a non-spin out wheel (MF 35) bolt up to the spin out wheel centers (MF 50) ?

The pics are a spin out wheel on an MF 50 and a non-spin out wheel on a MF 35.

Any sage advice is appreciated.

I have cut the bad spot out with a die grinder and cut the same size patch from a better rim and welded it in...good as new and a lot cheaper.

I believe the center bolt pattern is the same. I replaced the spinouts on my MF 65 with wheels from a Gleaner K.

Only if you swap the centers along with the rims.

As Casecollector said, cut bad spot out. Make sure you cut big enough so you can weld patch to solid material. Make sure your inside welds are ground smooth so don't irritate tube. Then brush some paint over your weld. That will fill any pits. Next you will drill a 5/8 stem hole 180 degrees around rim.

I have done literally hundreds of them when I had my fab shop going. Did them for the local farm tire store.

Thanks for the replies everyone. These rims are beyond repair and needs replaced.

Thanks again!

Power shift wheels were pioneered by AC on the WD, thanks to one of their engineers. I have replaced several on AC tractors. I believe a power shift rim is a power shift rim. While there are different types of clamps, again, I believe the rims are the same. I assume you have 28 inch wheels? 12 inch rim for a 13.6 tire. 13 inch rim for a 14.9 tire. It looks like you have the later style clamps AC didn't use until the later D17.

Like others have said...if it's just some nastiness around the valve stem hole cut it out and weld in a patch then drill a new hole elsewhere

My Dad did that alot , for neighbors, prep, weld , polish, when done, couldn't tell where repair was,
