I want to replace the upper and lower bushings in the vertical doglegs on front axle, also replacing thrust bearing. What is best way to remove old bushings from the spindle housing, or dogleg? We tried
driving out with with a blunt end punch, but not much surface for drivt to catch onto. Thanks for any help.

Cut one slit and it should almost fall out on its own. You did say that there was not much to grab on to. No biggie if you gouge the housing a little with your cut.

If you feel unsure on your torching ability to not cut the spindle tubes, you can lay a couple of beads lengthwise inside the bushings on opposite sides and then when they cool, the bushing should contract and be easier to drive out.
