Replacing Steering Shaft Bushing JD 530

How do you remove the steering shaft on a 530? I need to replace the front bushing bushing. The steering shaft has been rubbing on the gas tank and worn a hole in the tank. I removed the the two bolts from the front steering knuckles hoping there is enough room to push the knuckles back (towards platform) but there's still a 1/2" to go. I see the short shaft going into the steering box is "splined" and there's at least an inch plus of splines showing. Is there enough room in the box to push that shaft forward? Tractor has PS.

No, you will need to unbolt the steering worm housing, four bolts, pry off and slide off the steering shaft. Keep track of the paper gaskets on the worm housing. Renew with the same thickness of gaskets. The gaskets come new in two different thickness. Need the same thickness gaskets to keep the same clearance between the worm and steering gear. New bushing JD R20370R or where you can find one. Weld-up the shaft to fit a new bushing. Using a soldering iron, no flames, solder a patch on your gas tank with a HOT iron.
