(quoted from post at 12:16:54 06/05/23) What is the difference between a A8NN-12250-A and A8NN12250-B resistor?

Sites say both fit a 9N
ounting screw hole size is different.
1 3/16 centers & either 1/4 older or newer 10-24 .

With the OEM Ballast Resistor, either one, you can leave the insulated base and just buy the new resistor, p/n 18-12250, $17 at DC, for OEM ceramic style. Replacement style available too for $6.

Now we are getting someplace that makes sense.
Part number for 1932 8 cyl passenger car that was used on 9N tractor.
A8NN prefix for a part used only on 9N2N and never used on 8N early or late , makes no sense.

'm sure they "made sense" to those assigning the numbers. If numbers are causing you heart burn, take it up with those who assigned them!

You have to remember the first letter is the decade and the last number means the part was superseded.

A decade 1940s often omitted on 1940s part numbers
8 year in the decade. So 1948

N Designed by tractor division
12250 what part this is resisterThere are 11 resisters in 1948 price catalog.
