A couple of years ago I bought a Ford tractor to restore or at least fix up to use. I put a new radiator, plugs, points, cap, manifold, and wiring harness(mice). After I got started life went bad, wife had heart attack, lost job, and thats just the start. My question is whats it worth, the motor saya 8N, but looks like 9N, I have a 2-bottom plow, 3-point disc, and a 7 foot sickle mower for it. the tin is good,no rust or large dents or bends. What should I ask for it, and where the best place to advertise?

Pictures are worth 1000 words......location helps too as they very in price from one place to the next. Up here with the implements 3K with the tractor being in the 1200-1500 range based you yer discription.

Hi, I am so sorry your dreams have ben darkened by all thats happened in your life . I can actually say I know how you feel . My lifes dreams were blacked out by a tragic divorce in 2000, serious health issues then started developing which forced me into total disability at the young age of 53 .Its been downhill ever since for me . Then with that worthless prsident that I didn"t vote for , economy has gotten even worse . A lot of people have had their dreams quenched . Where are you located ? That has a lot to do with pricing .If you can"t repost with pics , send me pics & I will do what I can to help you . Now does the tractor have both brake pedals on the right hand side ? Is the distributor on the side or on the very front of the engine ? Does it have any lights on it ? Now the implements , do the plows have an ID tag on them ? Are they complete with coulters & tail wheel ? The disc , are they 3 pt & do they have an ID tag ? And are they complete & usable ? Hope to hear back from & I Pray Gods Hands be upon you & your wifes lives in healing & spirits . God bless, Ken

I can also sympathize with you. I've had similar problems and had to sell both of my 8Ns during the last few months. If you need help with getting pictures on here let me know. To try to answer your questions on sales, I sold one of mine through the Forum after I had spent a lot of money on it redoing most of the mechanical parts like you have. I got $1800 for it but had to drive about 10 hours (round trip) to deliver it and that was a long trip for me. The other one I sold on Craig List for $1000. It was good mechanically but the hood was rusted bad in a few places on it. I'd put about $300 into it before I had to sell it. The age, if it is between the mid 1940s and 1950 will not matter much. Mostly it is what another poster said. Is it front mount distributor or side mount? Side mount means it is a late 1950 or newer. As others have said, pictures are your best bet although I did sell my last one without a picture. I just described it good because I was selling it cheap. The part of the country you are in is also important. There are just a lot of variables until you can offer good pictures. you can always e-mail me or others here on the Forum. Just don't get distracted by the political baloney. There is always someone complaining.
But I do have to say that the economy was in bad shape before this President got in office. The one before him got was a major force in getting us here. But we are here and do need to try to work together as a country and quit all of this fighting in Congress to pull the country out of this mess. Gene

yep, post pics.

can we assume it runs with no obvious issues.. like no gushing leaks, or head gasket issues?

very possible to have an 8n engine on a 9n chassie.. think of it as an upgrade.

post pics and we can help you with an idea of value.

figure 1000-3000$ for most n's depending on condition. yours sounds like something in the low-mid 2 range.

you should advertize it in the catskills because, 1. they come up for sale very rarely, if someone has a decent one they are probably using it for something, 2. when they do come up for sale they get top dollar in terrible condition or with problems, at least $1000 more than most other places esp. the south and midwest, and, 3. people expect to pay a delivery fee.

check out country shopper or craig's list (less bad) for the catskill region

Hi! I got that trailer fixed. Now I got pic's, I don't want to load up your guys forum with a lot of pic's. Where should I try to post them, with some info to go with them. I'm just trying to be curtious, and helpful at the same time, OK! Dan
PS I see a place below for pic's, should I put them there ?
