I still don't know how to post a picture?

Zero volts at the top of the coil had me think'n you were losing the voltage are a bad coil,,, the coil was shorted but check good with a meter,,, chit happens,,, the points are a ground problem in the dist would not pull the voltage to zero at the top of the coil if it were good

this is were a spar head lite comes in handy to confirm the integrity of the power supply

Congrats. Anthony Glad you got it running, I know the feeling, I had the same problem, I too had 2coils, both shot but the new one did it , There some real smart guys on this forum, its amazing Jimmy in tn

Thanks I will get a picture of it up soon. I appreciate you all. I
started to feel bad cause I wasn't getting anywhere. And it seemed
that the more info I put out there the more confusing everything
got. These tractor are very simple, which made me feel pretty
stupid and frustrated. But all is good in 8n land.

Wow!, that pic. is familiar. My '45 2N was in the bushes next to a stone wall. Now it is in a heated shop waiting for the $ to bring it up to 'snuff'.

Tony........you did well. You did not give up and finally found the problem, thanks for posting back. Remember, us guessers are only as good as the guessee poster. Wow......2-shorted ignition coils, who'd thunk that??? Surprizingly enuff, Kirchhoff's Law predicted it. Again thanks for the update and go out there and tractor, well maybe wait until it warms up (grin) ........Dell
