Reversed battery

Hello,

I have inadvertely reversed my battery poles (in
other words STUPID error !!!)
Both wires are black so.... Hm.....

Anyways, I cranked it a bit before realising, then
put them back in correct position. Tractor will
not start no more. It turn's but no start.

It is a 4 cyl Diesel David Brown tractor (950).
There is no electrical on tractor except starter.

Any idea ?

Reversing polarity would make your starter turn backwards, but not engage the Bendix.
Possibly you have re-polarised the starter and will have to either have it corrected, or do a DIY correction.
You'd have to pull it off, get something to spin it in the correct direction, then "flash" it with a battery and jumper cables to correct polarity. After that, test it with the battery/jumper cables for correct-direction operation.
