Reversible front tires.

I have a new to me 1944 Farmall H. I am trying to determine if these are the reversible style of front wheels. They have the round tangs

which would appear to fit on either side of the hub. Also, is there any benefit by flipping the rims to the outside of the hub making the front footprint a little bit wider. Would that add to stability or driving improvement

I wouldn't say reversible but yes adjustable to various widths.
Kinda a bear to take off. You need to jack up high enough to pull out from under the hub and then lift the wheel over the hub.
takes some doing.
having the wheels wider will just make it harder to steer, unless you have power steering.

That is the correct way now with hub on out side. I have seen them with hub inside on standard tractors. They will work that way also on these tricycles. But I don’t like them that way.plus them tricycles the front tires lean out at the top.

Yes, those are the "reversible" style, to use your terminology. There are actually FOUR "correct" ways to mount the wheel on that hub. Inside(1), outside(2), flip over, inside again(3), outside again(4). Aesthetically correct is a matter of opinion.

Wider will go through mud better and will steer terribly harder as you widen them out and as for rollover it will be a wash for that .IF you are worried about that. You need to consider not driving there. I do realize there are places in the country that are steep slopes and hilly beyond some peoples comprehension. And tractors are used on them. IF that is the case consider a set of duals for those places. you get both stability and extra weight out there to help with the stability you seek. Front weights on the front end if going up that steep of a slope is also a good a idea against front end rise.
