Rice paddy harvester pics

Hey ya'll I know these probably aren't your type of machines, but I didn't know if you might want to see how its done here in my wifes hometown..

This is the Lovol brand, tracked type rice paddy machine. Its got a 6' head on it, not the biggest I have seen, but not the smallest either.

I really couldn't get much info on it, cause I am not really a combine guy, and I don't really know "rice harvester lingo" in Chinese.

We don't have any of the bigger ones around here, mostly all I see are 4 footers, because the roads/cowpaths between paddies are not wide enough to fit much bigger. Also the field itself isn't usually all that big. Its fun to watch them haul from one area to the next, most people have a small flatbed truck, or a dumptruck, and they back up to a berm and drive the machine right on. Straps? tiedowns? nah, that machine isn't going anywheres, the slimy mud on the tracks will hold it right tight to the bed of the truck...

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed,

Thanks for the pics, being a retired rice farmer, sure would hate to harvest severl hundred acres with those!
very interesting!!

I believe those machines pictured only harvest the rice. They are not combines. The harvested rice is then taken to another machine to be threashed, simular to the old stationary threashing machines of old. They do have some rice combines in the Far East which are bigger than the machines pictured but not near as big as our combines. All of the Far East rice combines I have seen pictures of are on tracks. I think their largest self propelled rice combines only have about a 10 foot header.

Great pics and interesting info. You wouldn't happen to have any pics of them working, would you? We would appreciate them. Harv
