I called my usual parts suppliers today to see about getting a tach drive for a 3600.
Ma and Pa place checked Sparex and A&I. None listed.
Called the dealer and only one he could find was one from NH for $138.
Aftermarket ones used to be about $35 or so.
You work in parts don't you?
Can you find me one?
If you would I could call you with a CC and have you ship me one.
email is open in classic.
Thanks

Not sure if the tach drive you need is like the ones listed on this website in parts, but check in the ford 3000 series list to the right.

Thanks Mike.
But the 3000 style drive is run off the generator.
I'm starting from scratch with a new electrical system and gauges on my 3000 so am planning to put a 10SI alternator and the 3600 style cluster and senders.
Need the tach drive that runs off the oil pump gear to do it.

I'll be back in the store on Monday. If you don't hear from me, send a reminder one way or the other. I'd be glad to see if I can help.

Ive ordered several in the last few weeks from either Sparex or A&I. Email is open, let me know if I can help.

The generator is NOS. Never had a wire hooked to it before. All it's ever done since I got it is take up slack in the fan belt.
Read some posts about the Lucas style VReg on these tractors and how trouble prone they are.
Why would anyone want that on his tractor if he's starting from scratch?
Plus I have no wiring and no tach cluster on my 3000.
It's the late style block with soft plugs so am going to convert it to the 3600 style drive, cluster and 10SI, make up a nice clean wiring harness and be done with trouble prone Lucas.
Sell the nos generator to someone who likes original and have very little dough in the conversion.
Any questions?
