Problem is with rodent control like that it can also be a problem with taking eggs and as of now chicks

no, bull snake is part of the gopher snake family, pine snake is also in there too. Fox snake is part of the rat snake family. all keep down rodents, rat snakes will prey on copperhead and cottonmouth snakes.

We have a couple of yard/barn/garage cats, but there is also a bullsnake that hangs around. By most accounts, a bullsnake is on par with a cat as far as being a good mouser, so the snake gets to hang around...

Many times they bring in the house dead mice. Sometimes they are half eaten, Sometimes just dead.
One morning the living room was full of feathers and a bird head.
One time they brought in a live mouse and a live bunny, GRRR
Count your blessings, snakes don't bring in mice.
One time we found a dead snake in the basement stuck to a sticky pad used to catch mice.
Welcome to life in the country.

There's always one around. The more snakes on my 5 acres the happier I am. Means less rats and mice. I could never understand why people would just hate snakes.

i dont use the glue traps. i dont like the idea of an animal stuck and slowly dying. snap traps are quick.

My dad was deathly afraid of snakes. It may have arisen from some time in the Phillipines in WWII. I like the role they play in the ecosystem, even the vipers. steve

Concur… drives me crazy when the cats play them to death. I’m for fast execution.

I just noticed a snake around the outside of my shop, about 2' long, not a "pit viper" so I leave it alone. I think I have killed off my rats with Tom Kat cubes but find a dead mouse in the shop from time to time. Maybe its a mouser.
