Interesting Tractor The owner claims few were built JimN

Well, it looks to me a lot like a Custom or a Lehr Big Boy or a Wards or several others that were built in Shelbyville, Indiana in the late '40s or early '50s.

Of course it's been 50+ years, so I won't be responsible for an old memory.

It was just another of the same types mentioned, only assembled in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) by the Rock Oil Company, in the late 40's or thereabouts after the war. Most of the mechanicals were surplus Chrysler Corp. parts like the engine, rear end, etc.

Stan has a good memory; Rockol, Regal and Norseman were the original CO-OP and Farmers Union CO-OP #2 and #3 etc etc clones produced by Custom Tractor Co/Harry Lowther and sold in Canada, while Custom/Lowther sold the Custom and built the Lehr Big Boy, Wards exc row crop, Jumbo/Simpsons Jumbo (all basically the same tractor) which were sold through those various companies here in the US. Some were also built by Jacob Love, Dave Friday, Amos Osterberg (OMC), a couple guys named Closson and Wilson (the tractors reportedly being called Closson sometimes and Wilson other times) and probably others I never ran across; one exists actually badged "Chrysler"and a couple others were reported seen. A poster on another site has one of the Canadian models and has been gathering literature and history; if anyone's interested email and I'll find his postings.
