Roll-O-Matic questions

Considering my options for replacing a standard narrow front end with a Roll-O-Matic.

I've got a '49 B with a one piece pedestal and standard narrow front end. Can I replace the steering shaft with a Roll-O-Matic, or do I need a different pedestal also?

If the Roll-O-Matic can be swapped for the standard, it looks like it would raise the front of the tractor by several inches. Is this the case? If so, it may make the exhaust stack too high for my low garage door opening.

Thanks for any comments

IIRC the pedestal is different too. Do you really use it that much to need a roll o matic ? I do not see how it would be worth all the bother ?

No matter what the Roll-a-matic will raise the front end, it has to to provide clearance for the oscillating travel up and down of the front wheels, a total of about 5 inches, 2 1/2 up and 2 1/2 down, There will be almost 3 inches between the top of the wheels and the horizontal portion of the front bolster/pedestal with the normal 5.50-16 front tires setting on a level surface.
