I have a 44 with 4 1/16 pistons. Many years ago when we took it from 4 flat tops to the M&W add power, we only gained a couple HP. The Continental engine does not flow well. A few years back I took and had the cam reground, ported the head, put a marvel schebler carb on it, and that gave me 15 hp at 285 cid.
