the roosa on my 806 is sticking and it must be the plungers. I have been messing with it and plan
to put a heat light close to it and get it warmed up as it is in a un heated shop and then turn the
engine over with some air pressure into the fuel inlet and a injector line fitting. I have talked
to people on red power and a friend down town and they seem to think this will work. I have a RD
that needs rebuilt to go on my old #673 806 that has a roosa change over on it but it runs and
pulls so well i hate to mess with it. I plan to try and save the roosa and wait to mess with the RD
another time unless i need a roosa.
Anyone have any other ideas? I have had berrymans chemtool in it for a few days and plan to drain
and put marvel mistery oil in it next

Define "sticking", is physically stuck, or turns freely but won't inject fuel?

I have had a F806 from Day 1,[Roosa-Master] a little anti-gel in the fuel doesn't hurt a thing,i put it in the big storage tank. I got a old classmate he's got a I806, 2804 S-Y with a R.D.pump, run like a top yet too. Diesel Tech will chime in and tell u what to do!

If the RD pump needs work .I understand there are few if any parts available for them now. I thought I understood the injectors and lines had to be changed with the pump, for the change.

When did the engine/pump run last? If it's been awhile, metering valve, delivery valve, and/or plungers may all be stuck tight from setting. Water in fuel, or bio diesel will cause parts to stick quickly. I repair several pumps a month that have the plungers stuck tight, and need a brass punch to remove them, and if stuck tight air won't free them up..

You can mess with all kinds of SNAKE OIL treatments and do this and that and when it gets down to the nitty gritty you need to pull the stupid pump and have it REBUILT , myself i don't have time to mess around ya got pump problems then dig into the piggy bank and FIX your problem and this is NOT a DIY repair .
