rope starting a tractor
I did the same with a VAC Case, back when I was young. I used it as my wood hauler and was too poor to buy a good battery. I even thought about putting a larger wheel on the pulley so I could start it like a two-banger JD. Until my dad saw me starting the tractor this way. He promptly went to town and bought a battery for me. He told me he didn't feed me all those years just so I could kill myself starting a tractor.(quoted from post at 07:01:48 02/04/15) Started out Farmall Hs many times with the belt pulley. Sometime with a rope, other times just grabbing the pulley and turning it by hand.
