anyone have any ideas as to why my tomato are rotting on the vine before they turn ripe?? have beautiful vine/ fruit up off the ground , happens to big /small, starts on the bottom of each one,,

spray the tomato plants with a mix of baking soda and water. about 1 Tablespoon baking soda to 1 qt of water. i had good luck with that. also put some wood ash or garden lime around the plants and LIGHTLY scratch it in and water throughly.

Blosom End rot.Due to a calcium defiency.Had it in bell peppers this year.Did not notice until fruit set and that was too late no matter what is done.

Next year, lime the soil before you plant. Use the chealp agricultural lime, about $2.50 a bag. That should cure the problem. Don't now if liming now would work or not.

Put a big tablespoon of Epson Salts in the soil under each plant next year and plant in new area where tomatoes haven't been planted before....James
