Rotary 6 in sander

My problem with the sander is the sanding disks glue is getting old and does not stay stuck to the pad. Is there a glue product that I can add on the disc to keep them stuck when using? Still need to peal the disk off when the grit is worn off. Thanks

The more you spray on, the harder they stick. A light dusting will work. Clean up the sander pad with lacquer thinner. steve

I stopped using glue on sanding disks.
I use velcro instead of glue.
I can peel off a disk, use a different grit and still reuse the old disks.

You should be able to buy 6 inch velcro disk.

I use a 5 inch velcro disk on a dewalt electric sander. The 5 inch sandpaper has holes. There is a fan inside the sander to send all the dust out a round hole which you could attach a shopvac to.

You may want to look into velcro.

Solvent based contact adhesive on one surface only . It works really well , especially on aluminium face plates . I made the mistake of gluing both surfaces the first time , an annoying mistake.

You could use some spray adhesive on just the pad. I've never had the glue wear out before the grit though. Probably a better solution would be to see if you can find a sub-base for hook and loop. It's getting more and more difficult to find PSA discs.

I had that same problem with disks, try putting them in a microwave for very few seconds. This will also revive old masking tape rolls. joe

Thank-you much for all the thoughts for solutions. I have several boxes of sanding disks to use, so the 3-M products looks like what I was hoping for. Changing to velcro disks in the future would be best. Thanks everyone
