Rotary hoeing

Rotary hoeing corn.Useing the 350 l bought sight unseen from a widow 100 miles away.Turning out to be a great little tractor.4th gear full tjrottle.Pull TA around ends,throw it ahead after turn,open the throttle back up and go.

I bought it on Janruary.She had sold her mountain ranch.Her son in law is the one who called me.I jokingly said I'd give 500. Next morning he called with the 'bad news'.He delivered it a couple of days later. She was happy someone she knew who would use it and love it was getting it.
 
Why do you rotary hoe ? We used to rotary hoe if we had rain and then the top dried out and crusted , especially in white beans. Some think it helps with weed control , but it also pulls beans out too. It looks like you are busting lumps with it.
 
Before No-Till , we use to rotary hoe to help emergence if ground was even a little crusted or for weed control if it didn't rain after spraying.
 
Mostly weed control.Yes,this field is cloddy. But that is common here in our adobe soil.The irrigation water will melt the clods around the seed.The clods will only be on the surface.I rotary hoe every year.
