24D ester LV4 LV6 and crossbow are all oil based. They are not made for summer use because the oil in the formula can vaporize at temperatures above 85 and float through the air just like gasoline does. The critical period is for 72 hours but can last for 30 days after sprayed. They can float for miles in the wind carrying the killing chemical with them.

If you want to use 24D in the summer get the water based Amine formula.

On trees and such go with crossbow or remedy with round up and use a surfactant. It is for trees and hard to kill broadleaf plants. LV is low volatile. Will not get up and walk off after spraying.

Remedy doesn't have Glyphosate as the active ingredient...I just bought some to kill my Poison Hemlock and not kill my grass. It does just that....with a surfactant as mentioned in the container's directions....A surfactant is cheap insurance for a guaranteed kill.

Does mixing roundup and 2-4-D actually work against each other or diminish either chemicals efficiently?alternative that kills both weeds and brush/small trees?

I would use Triclopyr , apx $65/gallon .Better than 2-4-D on brush and doesn' kill grass .
