Row crop power steering

I had the whole system off from my 961 due to a leak from the control valve. When I got it apart I found unanticipated deterioration due to a side load of the control valve stud. If I had not caught it it might have soon been too bad to repair. When I reinstalled it yesterday I found that I was able to almost completely remove the side pull on the post by adjusting the connecting rod at the front, so that it is carrying the side load.

It is a 12V, diesel.

(quoted from post at 07:52:36 04/23/23) Almost every one I see has the ball stud at right angle. Did you move it to bottom side?

No the stud is now nearly straight up. I took up a little on the adjustment at the back end of the drag ling as well.
