I have a cheap Cannon printer-scanner and the first batch of pictures I scanned a window came up and asked what format I wanted,I selected JPEG/exif and it uses that format automatically when I scan.Not much help but I think you younger folks know much more about computers than I do.

I am attaching a picture of the animals we farmed with during the 30's.About the time of world war two my father bought a well used John Deere GP but with the exception of a breaking plow he utilized all horse drawn equipment behind it.The horses names were Lady,Pet and Dick.

They don't look like draft horses. Did he farm with lighter weight horses?

That's what mine is,a $40 Cannon. I can scan photographs alright and they come through as jpeg. I scanned some stuff that was all text and it came through alright,but when I scan from a magazine or something where there's a picture and text it wants to come through as a PDF.
I've got a screen that comes up,but I can't find anything that gives me a choice. Maybe I'll find it some day. If it's there I must be looking right past it.

Give yourself some credit as it looks good to me ! This is about the only time anyone posted a picture on here I could see without messing with my screen size. They should be asking you for instructions.

Just don't know. When I used the install disc it created two icons. I'd been using the one that took me to the instructions.I clicked the other one and it said "Cannon Solutions Menu EX" It gave me options. One was set on auto,I changed that one to jpeg and tried it. Still came through as a PDF. I found another bar that said documents or magazine. I changed that one to magazine and it still went PDF. I'll keep at it.

My mother told me that they were wild mustangs and that it took 6 men to control them while breaking them for work.I think my father spent a lot of time resting them.I know as a small child in the early 30's they were prone to biting and kicking.

The big draft horses had a more gentle temperament.

all933 when you go to do a scan it should ask you for a preview or a scan. I always do a preview, this way you can move all 4 outside margins right up to the picture you want scanned and eliminate the rest of the page. This also makes the scanned document look bigger. This is the way my scanner works not sure of the newer ones.

On this Cannon of mine it says to put a photo like that in the lower left corner to scan it. That eliminates all of the border and fits it to the page.

This one is just the way it went from the scanner to the photo file. I think I might have had to rotate it was all.

Do you have a model # on that scanner? I have a lot of old pictures I'd like to scan and put on my computer.

Cannon MG2120. The wife went to the WalMart website,bought it online and we picked it up at the store same day. $39.00 plus tax. Came to $41.34.
