RTI / RTU parts interchangeability

I see that the RTI and the RTU/RTN/RTS/RTE have separate reprint parts manuals. Aside from the obvious differences in the steering and rear ends of the Industrial vs. the Narrow front row crop, I am going to look at an RTU for a backup engine project, a grille, a radiator(?), a carb, maybe a belt pulley and hopefully a decent governor. As much as I want to save them all, I am wondering if anything else would be worth keeping to support the long life and functionality I have planned for my RTI?
Thank you for your thoughts

Very good thank you John
Seems to have the hydraulic lever/knob below the steering “column” … I know the RTIs didn’t have this option but I also got it in my head that I could create some sort of use for the system

It would have a VERY limited capacity, the early R system used the engine oil as hyd to raise the cultivator with 1or 2 small hyd cylinders, just my opinion

Thank you again for this insight John. I’ve been reading up on the two different systems that were offered. The one I checked out today was the engine oil system you mentioned. Never saw one before, it’s neat. I think I’d be better suited with the other later option

The later pump can be mounted on your engine, then with a reservoir and controls, the uses will be unlimited, so to speak

Unimatic used on later models. Needed a crankcase cover to mount the Eaton pump as cam gear driven. Early models had a 4 bolt cover to mount the cam lobe driven pump. Latter has no reservoir as John said just uses motor oil. Only see Unimatic on models made in early 50's in me time frame as U Z.

The other major difference is hand clutch on Ag models vs foot clutch. If yours is a RTI, is there any chance it has an industrial pump on front of the engine under the grill, or a jaw on the front pulley to drive a pump?

No front pump currently, but looks to be plenty of space for one. Hunted up a ZAS hand crank for it that fits the crank pulley properly so I am guessing it doesn’t have the pump jaw? Would like to hand crank it so maybe will work on getting the Eaton pump set up parts. Are parts available to rebuild that pump?
It does have a PTO, and I do have a Vevor PTO pump I’ve been using for a splitter that could work.

Thank you for the engagement on the topic guys. I am going to pass on the RTU. In too good of shape to even have as a parts backup
Tried multiple times to post pic of that engine oil pump I saw but won’t upload
