Rug shampooer

I want to buy a rug shampooer with an attachment to clean pickup seats and tractor cab seats. Would anyone have a suggestion on one that really works?

Well, I can tell you what to stay away from. Don"t fool around with some unit designed for home use. Find a used commercial unit in good shape. I will never again buy a rug machine meant for the retail market. They just don"t hold up well.
When this retail unit I have finally gives up totally, I will be looking at the surplus market for something more durable. I will say I was able to get parts for a retail grade Hoover a few years ago rather easily online. Don"t know if that is still the case.

The only trouble with a REAL cleaned is they are around $750.oo for the rug doctor machine. As far as I know they do not sell used ones. Would be nice if they did.

I have seen brands other than Rug Doctor in surplus stores before. Like the ones a hotel or building manager might own.

With the cost of a junky retail level machine around 300 bucks, $750 for a Rug Doctor that would last for a lifetime probably is not a bad deal.

I have tried a few machines including Rug Doctor several times. Havn't found one that does half the job a truck mounted rig does. I now use one of the apartment house contractors and stick with work I am equiped for while the pro rug cleaner does better work than I can. We vacum and pay from $75 to $95 for vacant rent houses and $40 for my house where we vacum and move furniture before he gets there. He comes in and does traffic isles and moves nothing. I have to supply a key and let him make his own scedule so he spends less windshield time. I buy gallons of stain guard at the janitorial supply and spray it on with a pump up garden sprayer while carpet is damp.
