Can you guys explain the diff. between divsion 1 ,2,3 and what mile an hour goes with each. Where we pull it dont matter what you have , you bring it and you can pull it .Motor size , motor type , turbo it dont matter but we are running into problems. So we need a set of rules for antique so they're not pulling against modifieds and some way to pull out the "stock appearing" and put them in the appropriate classes .thanks

Google mean green pulling team and check out their rules. Seem simple and should work for everybody. The key is to have a speed limit and a way to monitor and enforce it.

Not all the sleds we pull have the mile/hour read out on them but thats the way we are going to go. I will check out that site ,thanks

The best way as it was stated earlier is to police the MPH and that in turn will limit the RPM and to a degree keep the playing feild level. Most (obviously not all) but most puller who have the money in the big motors did so to go fast so mph keeps everyone will they belong. However, if you dont have the equipment to measure speed a quick and dirty rule is to set a 1st gear class no cuts, and a any gear class any cut on tires. This can get abused by tractors with a fast factory 1st gear in comparison to a farmall H or M with a low/low but like I said its a quick and dirty fix to your problem.

I just dont get how a speed limit will limit RPM... If I run 1650 RPM in 4th gear to get 8MPH and someonelse runs 3000 RPM in 3rd at 8MPH how is the 8MPH limiting his RPM...

Been there, done that, seen the parts flying through the air when old tech gets pushed past its limits...

It dose not controll RPMS but controlls wheel speed. At 3MPH the big tractor motors power will not hurt you like 6 8 or open becuse you are keeping him from useing his power becuse he can only run 3 mile per hour. Some clubs around here let farm stock run 4MPH wich i think is a mistake.
