Run without exhaust?

I Hit something lower than the mufler on my super major and it broke where it is mounted to the manifold.
Will the engine run fine without the mufler?

It will run, but that is not a good long-term solution for many reasons. If you have the pieces, it can be welded. Or a replacement is about $200.

Only have a stick Welder and little experience. Welding cast Iron isnt easy, they say.
For now i have attached the elbow With wire and some exhaust paste.

A stick welder is how I weld cast. You just have to get the correct rods. It does a little practice, and some guidance.

I put a Agriline manifold kit, elbow and muffler on S/M 3 yrs ago. Fits nice and no issues.

Mathematical Problem for you to solve Does the manifold and elbow cost more than a new set of ears? (The ears are made of unobtainium).
