Thanks for all the tips. I started my day off by blowing out the radiator with compressed air and about a bushel of crud blew out. Then I spent 5 hours in the saddle bush-hogging out a field for fall planting. I used the bucket loader to lay the stuff down in front of the tractor which helped keep the radiator from loading up.
The TSC made-in-Taiwan coil was bad from the get-go. I replaced it with one from the Ford tractor dealer. It is made in China (sadly) and cost me $59 but it works. Comparing the 2 coils, the TSC coil did not fit properly on the distributor and was about 1/16" too short. I plan on getting my money back, or at least creating a scene!
I have used 8N tractors for 20 years and this is the first time I was satisfied with the tractor's performance. It pulled strong. It is my primary tractor until some money comes in.
