I don't see much point in bringing up here. We all know what happened, why is something that people will argue about. Arguing about politics on the net is sort of like masturbaation....
A zero sum activity.

well spook i don't know about that sometimes by having discussions some facts are brought to light.... like the fact that the FBI was warned about this perp long ago but did nothing about it!!!

I get sick and tired of the media binging on it 24/7. All they're doing is giving the perp the publicity he craves.

Plus, when they start talking about the firearm(s) used, they spread so much disinformation from reporters who are clueless I can't stand it.

Something like that, I usually watch for a half hour to see what happened and go on my way.

This time, they did interview Chuck Ramsey, former Police Commissioner in Philly and DC. He's neat and knows what he's talking about. He's a black man who rose through the ranks and has never made any bones about the fact that he's more at home out on the street in uniform with his troops than sitting in his office pushing a pencil. When there was a motorcade for something, you were just as apt to see him in uniform directing traffic as the junior cop on the force.

He was Chief in DC when our daughter lived there. She said once she was in a 7/11 store standing in line to pay for a slurpy. She turned around and Ramsey was standing behind her in uniform, also in line to pay for a slurpy. They chatted a bit.

Onetime in DC, someone tried to pull a political maneuver that would have put the police force in a negative light. A reporter got Ramsey on TV, gave a rundown on the subject, and asked Ramsey if he had a comment. His total comment, live on TV was, "That's bulls**t". End of interview. You gotta admire a man like that.

" no mention of the latest school rampage/massacre. or did I miss something ?[/quote]

There are many other forums for you to discuss your opinions, this is a tractor forum.

It was what, the eleventh school shooting so far this year (7 weeks into the year) and the 300th U.S. school shooting in the last five years. Very sad but way too common.

ME TOO!... i have heard enough of all these shootings and S__ accusations , and if that news stations didnt publicize everything 24 hrs. a day maybe the crazy's wouldnt get so many idea's. definitly dont need to talking about it here. he did not even drive a tractor to school.

I come here to get away from stuff like that. There isn't any news any more, just opinion, opinion, opinion.... blah.

Of course it's a bad deal, duh.

Since January 1st, how many people have been killed and hurt because of cell phone testing use in cars? But that's ok, it doesn't fit a political agenda so no one gives a fig.

Blah.

Paul

Either way you look at this there is NO gun law that would have stopped this. Only way this stuff is going to stop is to arm those in the school who teach and train them how to handle guns. Criminals do not go threw the back ground check when they buy guns they just go to a back alley some place. Put guns in the hand of those in the schools and do not let any body know who does and who does not have the weapons

Name the 19. This is garbage put out by the every (lie in) town for gun control... or what ever Blomberg's group is now called. Prior to yesterday's shooting, three students had died, and another 30-35 had been injured.

https://www.dailywire.com/node/27165#

One shooting is too many, but guns are not the problem, human hearts are the problem.
Whether you are a nnalert or a nnalert, you make your choice about guns based on the people you know. Most nnalert don't know many people they wouldn't trust with a gun, and most nnalert don't know any they would.

It's all how school shooting is defined. In that list is a case where someone shot the window out of a school bus with a pellet gun in Iowa, a case where a guy committed suicide in a school parking lot after hours, a suicide in a school bathroom, an accidental discharge when a student mistook a training gun for a real one, a case where a gun accidentally went off in an apartment across the street from a school and hit the building brick facade,a case of a drive by shooting in a parking lot, and of course the cases that first come to our mind when we hear s hooling shooting. It's a terrible deal nonetheless.

There is a time and a place for everything. This is simply not the place for discussion of this event. That is the reason it was not mentioned.

In case you forgot, this is a tractor forum. We discuss tractor issues, implement issues, farming issues, and a host of somewhat related topics that concern most homeowners.

This event happened a long ways away from most of us. We do not know all of the facts. We only know what has been spoon fed to us by a corrupt news media that has an agenda.

Soon, the cry will go up for more gun laws. Then some hand-wringing lib will insist that something has to be done. Sure, we will close the barn door after the horse is gone. Like OLD said, there is no gun law that would have prevented this.

Let it rest, and let the folks involved deal with it. This is not the place.

The famous 1929 St. Valentine's Day Massacre had far fewer victims, only seven. I guess we are more accepting of such things now-a-days.

Your used tire post was funny, but you didn't use the worst tire in the photo, you shoulda had the really chewed up one on it.

Didn't realize it got pulled, but then from some Craigslist ads I see, I guess you could have been taken seriously! Ha!

And I am surprised as well. Folks have been well behaved tho, all in all.

One of the most dangerous places to be in America is a gun free zone. Like Old said, teachers should be carrying concealed to protect the students.

Very good Paul & Old.

....and finally, go elsewhere, this is a tractor forum, not a political forum. Those do exist, too.

(quoted from post at 20:09:13 02/15/18) 19th school shooting this year!

That is complete and utter garbage. It's a number that has already been widely discredited. The criteria for the numbers isn't even followed by the activist organization publishing it, ie- they inflate their own numbers! https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/no-there-havent-been-18-school-shooting-in-2018-that-number-is-flat-wrong/2018/02/15/65b6cf72-1264-11e8-8ea1-c1d91fcec3fe_story.html?utm_term=.e912f426e0e6

The deep state progressives are behind these shootings, that?s why all the cover ups and lies in Las Vegas, this latest will be more of the same, it?s a gun grab, plain and simple. The godless freedom haters in the devilcrat party would gladly murder millions to get what they want, which is total control and absolute power.

Its interesting that those who want to ban guns are sure happy when an ARMED law enforcement officer shows up to protect them from the bad guy. Kind of like saying its murder to kill the family cow but sure I' ll have a Big Mac for lunch. Some day we will wake up and realize that 1) violence is violence and quit making two categories gun and all others 2) violence regardless of weapon used is a symptom of a much bigger problem.
