Sanborn compressor

Anyone familiar with Sanborn compressors? Menards has them now and I'll soon be in the market for one. The prices seem reasonable but maybe they are junk. I see on their website they have merged with Coleman Powermate and I have in the back of my mind that they were junk. Any comments on this?

My dad bought a 2 cylinder 60 gallon horizontal Sanborn at HF in 1985. Other than it being a belt eating fiend its been a great compressor.

I have had one for about 4 years. It works great for me, though it doesn't get heavey use. I noticed that the current ones they have in the stores are not rated the same PSI. They also had much fewer choices.

60 Gal, 2 cly, 7 hp

Good luck, Gary

I was at a Menards store and looked at the PowerMate air compressors. It is my understanding that they are made in China now. I won't buy Chinese stuff if I can avoid it.
